The Impact of Entrepreneurship

Craig D. Hanson is the Principal, CEO and President of Omega Management Group, a property management firm founded in 1976. He began his career at age 12 in this family business, taking on various roles from maintenance to on-site management. While studying at the University of Kansas, he supervised a senior apartment community, gaining valuable leadership experience.

After graduating, Craig returned full-time to the family business, earning the CPM and RPA industry designations and gradually gaining respect as a leader. When health challenges forced his father to step back temporarily, Craig naturally assumed leadership of the company. Despite facing his own health issues for a time, he remained optimistic, relying on his faith. In 2012, recognizing a growing frustration with his own leadership, Craig undertook a self-assessment that led to significant cultural changes within the company. He developed the Vision, Mission, and Values (VMV) framework, which serves as the foundation for his companies and shortly thereafter he created the My Neighbor’s Keeper initiative.

Both of which serve as Culture Carriers. In 2016, Craig founded Omega Senior Living to honor his mother that had dementia. He went on to be a founder of a correctional healthcare company in 2018 and an active adult development company later that same year. In 2022, he founded the non-profit My Neighbor’s Keeper National Foundation, reinforcing his commitment to community and culture. Today, he leads both Omega Senior Living and Omega Management Group and has been involved in various healthcare and housing initiatives across the country.
